You have the power to donate life.

Volunteer With the Eye Bank

Many individuals think about joining their state’s eye, organ and tissue donor registry, but never take the steps to do so, simply because they’re unaware of the difference their gifts can make in others’ lives.

By volunteering with Heartland Lions Eye Banks, you can play a significant role in saving the sight – or life – of someone in need by spreading the word about the importance of donation. Whether you’re a tissue recipient, a donor family or someone just inspired by the miracle of donation, the Eye Bank has volunteer opportunities for you:

  • Volunteer at an organ and tissue donor drive – Throughout the year, the Eye Bank and our partner organizations host tissue and organ donor registry drives at colleges, fairs, hospitals and community events in Kansas, Missouri and Illinois. We’re always need volunteers who can help staff our booths and answer questions about donation. In addition, if your club or organization would like to schedule a donor drive, please let us know!

  • Speak at an Eye Bank event – If you’re a recipient or donor family, you can share your story at donor remembrance services and educational events. Opportunities abound during National Donate Life Month in April and National Donor Sabbath in November.

  • Share your story – The Eye Bank is always looking for inspirational stories from recipients and donor families to include in our newsletters and on our websites. Sharing your donation experience is a wonderful way to honor the contributions of our generous eye donors.
