Maybe it’s a child who can read after losing his eyesight in an accident. Or a grandmother who can see her grandchild clearly for the first time.

Your loved one’s gift of sight has made an incredible difference in someone's life, whether the cornea was transplanted in another or used for sight-saving ocular research. In 2011 alone, the eyesight of 2,550 individuals was saved or enhanced thanks to the compassion of donor families like yours.

Heartland Lions Eye Banks offers donor families two ways you can honor your loved one. If you wish to communicate with his or her cornea recipient, you may correspond anonymously through the Eye Bank or you may share your family member’s story with our communications department so others can learn of his or her generosity in life and in death.
