For cornea recipients, receiving a transplant is a life-changing experience. In an effort to educate others about the importance of eye, organ and tissue donation and to say thank you to all of those who have made a transplant possible, many recipients choose to take an active role in promoting donation.

If you are intersted in working with the Heartland Lions Eye Banks to educate others about the importance of donation then our Sight Ambassadors program is for you! In becoming a Sight Ambassador, you can help the Eye Bank continue its mission to preserve and restore sight in many ways including:

• Volunteering your time at Eye Bank fundraising activities in your area.
• Sharing the story of your transplant with the Eye Bank for use in various newsletters, publications and videos.
• Telling your story to others at local Eye Bank and hospital events.
• Working with the Eye Bank's PR staff to share your story with local media.
